An African KI

Friends at IDS (Sussex) tell me that I am a "knowledge intermediary". With their encouragement I hope this blog will highlight some issues in the African knowledge and networking field. Reflective, well written articles on these issues will be profiled - found in my daily trawl for material to populate various websites (ANSA-Africa, FANRPAN and others in the pipeline).

About Me

Richard H
Tshwane/Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa
I have a passion for promoting the work and profile of African-based networks by harnessing the power of the internet. I retain links to the ANSA-Africa network, sourcing material on social accountability issues for its very popular website. I also source material for FANRPAN's website; FANRPAN is a SADC-wide agricultural policy network. My first exposure to the virtual element of African networks came through the Southern African Regional Poverty Network (SARPN). I studied journalism and African Politics at Rhodes University in Grahamstown in the 1970s. My interest in public policy research, as opposed to conventional academic research, led me to the Centre for Policy Studies in Johannesburg and to the Human Sciences Research Council in Pretoria.
